City of Chico Councilmember

Served as Vice Mayor, chaired Sustainability Task Force and Internal Affairs Committee. Fought to preserve Bidwell Ranch, prevented development encroachment near foothills, endorsed US Mayor’s Climate Control Agreement, oversaw completion of Green House Gas emissions audit, expanded creekside greenways. Community Action Volunteers in Education Program Manager Develop and implement cooperative programs including planning, scheduling and implementing a wide variety of volunteer and service learning programs and activities.

Campus Bicycles Owner

Committed to preserving Chico’s heritage and quality of life for future generations while carefully planning for Chico’s growth. Aware of the needs of small, independent business working to preserve the viability and charm of our downtown, recognizing it as the heart of our community.

Bidwell Park and Playground Commission Vice Chair

Involved in all park policy making and working with other commissioners to guide the development of the new Bidwell Park Master Management Plan.

Bidwell Park Centennial Committee Co – Chair

Worked with a dedicated, diverse group of Chico citizens to organize and prepare engaging, fun, community – wide celebrations of Chico’s “crown jewel” and its rich 100-year heritage in 2005 Chico Parking Place Commission Chair Appointed by City Council 1992. Hears citizen concerns relative to car and bicycle parking issues and makes recommendations to Council.

Bicycle Advisory Committee

Appointed by City Council 1993. Developed transportation plans which are forwarded to Council. Achievements were instrumental in naming Chico the most bicycle friendly city in America in 1998.

CSU, Chico Staff Council Chair

Represent staff issues while serving on Academic Senate and other university decision making committees. Sponsors the University Needy Children’s Program – providing holiday gifts and dinner for hundreds of Butte County children.

Kids and Creeks Board of Directors, President

Demonstrates the values of community service and environmental stewardship for elementary school children.

Chico Velo Cycling Club Board of Directors

Promote safe cycling and bicycle touring. Sponsors Wildflower Century which attracts 3,500 visitors annually.

Park Watch Volunteer

Park information resource and acts as “the eyes and ears” for the Park Rangers.

KCHO

Member of Northstate Public Radio’s Capital campaign; a phone volunteer during KCHO’s fund raising pledge drives; and an enthusiastic supporter of local arts and culture.
